Overview

Mission

Northwest Missouri State University Archives & Special Collections serves as the institutional memory of the University. It fosters a learning environment, acquires, preserves, and makes accessible materials that document the history of the institution.

Items We Are Currently Seeking

  • Any items or records related to Student Senate.
  • Items related to the Maryville Seminary (1889-1905) or its founding organization, the Northwest Missouri Educational and Scientific Association.
  • Photographs taken by F. Ralph Marcell, Marcell Photography Studio, sometimes stamped "Photo by Marcell."

The archivist would like to talk with anyone willing to donate records, memorabilia, photographs, or other items related to the Fifth District Normal School (1905-1919), Northwest Missouri State Teachers College (1919-1949), Northwest Missouri State College (1949-1972), and Northwest Missouri State University (1972-Present).
